Questions & Answers
HOW DO I SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?

We reserve appointments very carefully, so you will receive the
Doctor or Hygienists’ full attention.  Our phone is answered every
day of the week and on weekends.  Please call our office at 936-
494-0200 to schedule a time that is convenient for you.  Should you
need to change your appointment, it may take several weeks
before another one is available.  We ask that you call us directly so
we can reschedule with you and give another patient your allotted
time.  Please give us a 48 hour notice if you must reschedule a visit
with Dr. Portales or our hygienist.  Our office will call you prior to
your appointment to verify the date and time and to see if you have
any questions prior to your appointment.

DO YOU FILE MY INSURANCE FOR ME?

Yes, we will gladly document your insurance paperwork as a
courtesy and help you maximize your insurance benefits.  For all
appointments with Dr. Portales, we ask that you pay for services at
the time of your visit.  This may include paying a co-payment or a
deductible (if you have insurance).  This may also include paying
100% of your visit if you do not have insurance.

CAN I EAT BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

Definitely.  Please do so.  Especially if you are having a complete
smile makeover or any oral surgery.  After you receive treatment,
please follow your specific postoperative instructions, including
your diet.

WHAT ARE THE “SPA AMENITIES” YOU HAVE AVAILABLE IN
YOUR OFFICE?

When you arrive, make yourself comfortable.  Please help yourself
to refreshments from our hospitality bar.  Choose a DVD movie or
music from the AMENITIES MENU to keep you entertained during
your visit.

On your way back to the treatment room, stop and dip your hands in
our paraffin wax and enjoy the feel of moist hands to go with your
new beautiful smile!

While you are having your smile treatment, the time will fly while
you’re watching movies or listening to music.  Warm blankets, foot-
warmers and aromatic eye masks will keep you warm and cozy.

SHOULD I WEAR MY CONTACT LENSES?

If you’re comfortable taking naps in your lenses or keeping your
contacts in for a long period of time, then you may want to wear
your lenses.  If you do not sleep well in contacts or you have dry
eyes, you may want to wear your glasses instead.
